THRIFT STORE TREASURE!

Today I went to the thrift store looking for yarn.  Unfortunately, I forgot that yesterday was their 50% off sale day and the place was picked clean.  I have never seen the shelves and walls so empty!  In my mind I was also looking for a small jar, pitcher, etc. that I could use to hold pens and markers on my sewing table.

I have been housing them in my multi-sectioned container, but I really need the space for sewing gadgets, not pens.

Imagine my surprise when, on those terribly empty shelves, I spotted the perfect solution to my pen storage needs...and it wouldn't take up any extra workspace...which is at a PREMIUM, lol.

I just LOVE the feminine cottage-y look of my find.  It fits in perfectly with the rest of my sewing room decor...

  1. How cute! That's a great idea! (Though in my house, it might attract the wrong kind of attention from Big Boy -- my boy cat.)

    1. Since it is just me and Dear Hubby now, we don't have to worry about keeping things safe from "interested parties", lol.

    1. I spotted it and grabbed it quick before anyone else had a chance, lol. I've learned in the past (the hard way) that it is better to carry around any "possibilities" while shopping than to leave them to the end. I certainly can't turn to another shopper and plead, "But I loved it first!", lol.

    1. Oh yes, I definitely LOVE a bargain, especially when it is something "different" that you don't see everywhere else!

    1. Thank you, Amy! It reminds me of a plant container my mom got when I was born...a cute little lamb...yes LAMB...pulling a wagon, done in all of the same soft colors and style. That lamb sat on my parents dresser for forty some years. It was where mom kept all receipts from purchases. I can still remember her saying, "It's upstairs in the lamb". She got rid of it 5 years ago when they moved into their new house, and now I really, REALLY wish I had kept it. Cute and so full of memories! I'm getting sentimental in my old age!
