My bench pad is finally finished!!! I am so in love with it. It still needs a good pressing and I'm waiting for an Office Depot order that includes 3M Command Strips to attach it to the bench so it stays firmly in place.
I used the leftover fabric from the pillow in the above photo to make the geese. The red stripe fabric is the backing on the pillow.
The backing is a prequilted fabric that I received for free. I added an additional piece of polyester batting to make it a little more "cushy" for the "tushy"!
This is my favorite kind of project...completely made up of scraps and freebies! Hmmmm...what to make next?
Toodles...
Just lovely. You did a great job. I love how bright the pad is.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you, Jackie! I had so much fun making it. I've discovered that while I love making things with beautiful new fabric, my imagination is stretched much further by "making do" with what I have on hand. My "geese" were limited by the number of leftover pieces of fabric and I had to find a way of making the little amount I had left turn into something pretty. I am really much more drawn to bright colors these days, which is funny since for YEARS I have been more of a "pastel" girl!
DeleteThis is my favorite kind of projects too! So rewarding.
ReplyDeleteYour bench pad is quite beautiful and I love how it looks next to your lace curtains and cushion. Fresh and crisp. :-)
I love it! It looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy! I just got my 3M Command strips and it is now attached to the bench so it doesn't shift around when someone sits on it. I just tried it out it is so comfy with the breeze on my back!
