"CALL ME IMELDA" PROGRESS...

Yesterday was the absolute pits with my tremor, but I woke up this morning and my tremor was in hiding (where I wish it would stay!).  So I sat myself in front of my sewing machine and churned out a TON of work on my Dear Aunt's quilt.  Wanna see????

I hope you don't mind a little loud noise because I have been SQUEALING in delight!  I am in love, Love, LOVE with this quilt!  I thought I loved my dad's the best...then I made my mom's and thought hers was my favorite.  Now my aunt's has taken first place in my quilty heart.  I ADORE designing theme quilts and this one is turning out just as I envisioned it when I put pencil to sketch book.

I've decided to call it a day as I am too fatigued to do any more, but Sunday (body willing) should mean a bit more embroidery and some more piecing and borders to round it out to a perfect snuggle size.

I think I will sit here and stare for a while, lol.

ETA:  FYI, in case you couldn't tell...the center "shoe shop" area is a panel.  I'm not that good...yet, lol.

  3. That looks wonderful. The blocks you made match the panel perfectly, I can't wait to see it finished.

  4. Very nicely done. Where on earth did you find that panel? You are growing by leaps and bounds on your quilting and machine embroidery.

    God bless.

    1. Thank you, Jackie! If I remember correctly, I think I find it while we were on vacation in South Carolina. I knew I either wanted her quilt to be about convertibles (she has a Chevy Camaro convertible) or shopping or shoes. I couldn't find anything about cars that wasn't childish or shopping that wasn't "cutesy". My aunt is 72, so I wanted something a bit more sophisticated. I walked into the store and found the panel and two coordinating materials (the blue and a stripe I used for the box lids). I found the rest of the material in Lancaster, PA at my favorite quilt shop.

    1. Thank you, Carrie. I got a tiny bit more machine embroidery done today before a migraine sent me to bed! Hopefully tomorrow I can make more progress!
