SECOND CHRISTMAS GIFT DONE....

The island runner for my folks and aunt is done!  I'm loving it, but still a bit disappointed.  I have a very definite wave on the edge, toward the far end.  I have not pressed it yet, but I am sure the wave will not go away much.  Apparently my cutting was off.  I had some difficulty with the binding, I was WAY shorter than I expected it to be and had to piece it quite a bit to get it long enough.  I am wondering if that is part of the problem.  UPDATE:  I put some heavy books on the runner, figuring I would leave them there until I starch it and iron it another day.  The waves have disappeared!  Woohoo.  I will still press it nice before I wrap it.  Today I am too beat.  I pushed myself WAY too hard today and I feel horrible.  But that was the last of the "have to get done" for Christmas gifts.  I still want to work on J's quilt, but it is highly unlikely it will get done by the holiday.

Off to take a single Motrin and lie down.

  1. Nice work.

I am still working on my first Christmas gift..... Hopefully by the next week or two I will be done and able to whip up the second gift in no time flat.

    God bless.

    1. Thanks, Jackie! I love the rug you are making for your son. How many rows do you still have left? That is also on my list of "someday" things I want to make. Good thing I plan to live to be 150...it's the only way I will get everything all done, lol.

  2. I'm happy for you that you were able to remove the waves with such an easy method! I love your runner and find that it has a sophisticated look with all those beiges and browns. The flowers blocks are quite beautiful.

    1. Thank you so much! I am hoping the waves stay away, lol. I think I may keep the books on there until I do my Christmas wrapping. Then I will press it up nice and wrap it and hope they never come back, lol. I am really falling in love with the "batik" look...more sophisticated than the fabrics I am usually drawn to.
