WELCOME TA-DAH...

Please excuse the unpainted doors and covered windows...but my welcome sign is DONE.  I am SO HAPPY!

Here is a close up.  Now I REALLY need to finish my doors and put away the last minute things that are STILL lying all around my sewing room!  This sign is definitely giving me inspiration to finish it all so that I can take you on a proper tour!  Soon...I hope...

Toodles...

    1. Thanks, Maggie! I have had the panel for a few years now and never got around to finishing more than a tiny bit of coloring. My new sewing room definitely lit a spark!

Just back from holidays and catching up. Seems like you have done a great deal while we were gone.

    God bless.

  3. Just found your blog by way of Connie's link up. I love the welcome sign and in one of your replies you mentioned coloring. I've been thinking of trying my hand at coloring on some blocks but have not tried this before. Is this what you meant by coloring and the panel was just a picture when you started. Thanks

    1. Yes, it was a black and white panel with no color at all. I used Prismacolor colored pencils to color in most of the area around the quilter (me, heehee) and little bits of color spaced throughout the large quilt. I could have colored in the entire picture with the colored pencils, but I thought it would be better to use the coloring as an accent in the large quilt part. Then I turned it colored side down onto an ironing board covered with several paper towels and ironed it with a dry iron from the back to "set" the colors. Give it a try some time, it is REALLY fun! I love the prismacolors because as the pencils lose their point you can color in a circular motion to make sure to cover all of the threads. Then you can sharpen the pencil to add details such as the stripes on the cat's tail and the separation between its toes.
