MAKING A SANDWICH...

...a QUILT sandwich!  I am doing little bits at a time because it is HOT and I'm beat.

But, I'm making sure to hydrate well.  This is the first time I have ever tried coconut water...and I really like it!  It's nice and refreshing.  Hope you are all having lovely days and surviving the weather wherever you are!

  1. I'm very curious, are you basting on a table?! Does it work well? Any tips? My back and knees thank you!

    1. I have always basted on a table. I could not get down on the floor to do it...my body is too old, LOL. It works VERY well. I center the backing on the table and then use painter's tape to secure the top of the backing to the table. I mark the center top with a piece of tape. Then I layer the batting on top, again centering it with my mark at the top. Then I add the flimsy, centered again. Once everything is centered well I will place a few pins top center, middle center and bottom center of what is on the table just to hold it all. Then I begin working from the center out, smoothing as I go. Once the entire amount sitting on the table is done, I shift the sandwich and do one side at a time...again smoothing and feeling for any wrinkles. If I am doing a quilt that I think could possibly wrinkle badly on the back I will check it after I have done maybe six inches on either side of center. The table I use is a fold up that is very easy to store in my room. Let me know if you have any other questions! Have fun!

  3. When it is hot you don't want to do much. Your project is coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing quilted.
